Kelly Sews Love, LLC — Custom Base Costume Policy & Terms

Please read all terms and conditions carefully before making a reservation. By submitting your deposit, you agree to all policies outlined below.

General Information

This product is intended for individuals who wish to add their own embellishments and are commissioning Kelly Sews Love, LLC to create a custom costume base only. This is a custom service and not a standard base available for direct purchase on our website.

• Custom base pricing typically starts at $200 and increases based on design complexity, materials, and construction.
• All pieces are made-to-order and are considered custom, one-of-a-kind garments.
• We do not replicate another designer’s work. Inspiration photos may be submitted for guidance on color, silhouette, and overall style only.
• We may recreate our own previous designs; however, exact duplication is not guaranteed due to the custom nature of our work.
• All communication will be conducted via email: kelly@kellysewslove.com. Clients are responsible for providing a valid and active email address.

Deposits & Payments

• A non-refundable deposit of $85 per costume is required to reserve your selected ship date (subject to availability).
• Of the $85 deposit:
  • $55 will be applied toward your final balance
  • $30 covers design consultation and sketch services (non-refundable)
• Each costume requires its own deposit.
  Example: A duet requires 2 deposits ($170 total).
• Final invoices must be paid within 7 days of issuance.
  Failure to pay within this timeframe will result in:
  • Cancellation of your order
  • Forfeiture of your deposit

Pricing

• Custom base costumes start at $200 and increase based on complexity, fabric selection, and design details.
• A detailed quote will be provided after your design consultation.
• Clients are encouraged to communicate their budget during the consultation so we can design accordingly.

Design Consultation Process

• A design consultation is required for all custom base orders and must occur 8–10 weeks prior to your selected ship date.
• Consultations may be conducted:
  • In person (for local clients or those willing to travel), or
  • Virtually (via email and/or scheduled communication)
• After the consultation, you will receive:
  • A design sketch
  • A measurement form (if not completed in person)
• Clients have 7 days to:
  • Approve the design OR
  • Request revisions
  • Submit measurements (if applicable)
• Failure to meet deadlines may result in delays, order cancellation, and/or forfeiture of deposit.
• Once a design is approved:
  • Additional changes may incur a $30 revision fee per change

Measurements & Fit

• Clients are responsible for submitting accurate measurements.
• Kelly Sews Love, LLC is not liable for improper fit due to:
  • Incorrect measurements
  • Body changes or growth spurts
• Fit concerns must be reported within 5 days of delivery and will be reviewed case-by-case.

Shipping & Delivery

• Costumes will not be shipped or released for pickup until the final balance is paid in full.
• Estimated shipping costs range from $15–$25, depending on size and weight.
• Duet/Trio costumes may be shipped together to reduce costs.
• A tracking number will be provided once shipped.
• Kelly Sews Love, LLC is not responsible for shipping delays caused by carriers.

Returns, Exchanges & Liability

• Due to the custom nature of our work:
  • All sales are final
  • No returns or exchanges will be accepted
• Once the costume is delivered or picked up:
  • The client assumes full responsibility for the garment
  • Kelly Sews Love, LLC is not liable for:
    • Wear and tear
    • Damage after delivery
    • Alterations performed by third parties

Reservation Guidelines

• When selecting your ship date, please ensure it is at least 3 weeks prior to your performance date.
• This allows time for delivery, fitting, and any necessary minor adjustments.
