Kelly Sews Love, LLC — Custom Costume Policies & Terms

Please read all terms and conditions carefully before placing your order. By submitting your deposit or payment, you agree to all policies outlined below.

General Custom Costume Information

  • All sales are final. Costumes cannot be returned or exchanged.
  • Kelly Sews Love, LLC does not replicate another designer's work. Inspiration photos may be submitted for color, silhouette, and style guidance only.
  • Each costume is a custom, one-of-a-kind design.
  • Each costume is professionally made; however, as a handcrafted item, minor imperfections may occur.
  • Previous designs may be recreated; however, exact duplication is not guaranteed.
  • All communication will be conducted via email: kelly@kellysewslove.com. Clients are responsible for providing an active email address.
  • Final balances must be paid within 7 days of the invoice. Failure to do so will result in: Order cancellation and Forfeiture of deposit.
  • Costumes will be shipped or released for pickup only after final payment is received.
  • Shipping costs typically range from $15–$25 depending on size and weight.
  • A tracking number will be provided once shipped.
  • Kelly Sews Love, LLC is not responsible for shipping delays caused by carriers.

Returns, Repairs & Liability

  • All custom costumes are final sale.
  • Once received, the costume becomes the client's responsibility.
  • Kelly Sews Love, LLC is not liable for: Wear and tear, Damage after delivery, or Alterations by third parties.
  • Due to the nature of dance: Rhinestones, feathers, sequins, and embellishments may loosen during use.
  • Fit issues must be reported within 5 days of delivery and are addressed case-by-case.
  • If a package arrives damaged: Contact us immediately, provide photos of packaging before opening, and file a claim with the shipping carrier.

Reservation Process (Solos, Duets, Trios)

  • Select and purchase your preferred ship date.
  • Ship date should be at least 3 weeks before performance.

Deposits

Deluxe Custom Costumes: $150 deposit per costume

  • $120 applied to final balance
  • $30 design consultation fee

Custom Costume Bases: $85 deposit per costume

  • $55 applied to final balance
  • $30 design consultation fee
  • Each costume requires its own deposit. Example: A duet requires 2 deposits.

Pricing

Deluxe Custom Costumes

  • Starting at $375+
  • Pricing increases based on: Design complexity, Fabric selection, Level of embellishment

Custom Costume Bases

  • Starting at $200+
  • Base construction only (no embellishments included)

Group Costumes

  • Pricing varies based on: Quantity, Design complexity, Level of detail
  • To begin group orders, email: kelly@kellysewslove.com and include: Studio name, Contact person, Quantity, Budget, Design ideas/inspiration
  • Group custom costumes require full payment to begin. Deposits are not accepted for group orders.
  • All group costumes are made using custom measurements for each dancer.

Design Consultation

Deluxe Custom Costumes: Consultation required 12–15 weeks before ship date

Custom Costume Bases: Consultation required 8–10 weeks before ship date

Group Costumes: Design consultation is required for all group orders.

  • Custom base group costumes: 8–10 weeks before ship date
  • Deluxe custom group costumes: 12–15 weeks before ship date

Consultations may be conducted in person (local clients) or virtually.

After consultation, you will receive: A design sketch and measurement form (if needed).

Clients have 7 days to: Approve design, Request changes, and Submit measurements.

Missed deadlines may result in: Order cancellation, Deposit forfeiture (if applicable), and Shipping delays.

Additional design changes after approval: $30 per revision.

Sizing & Measurements

  • All custom costumes (solos, duets, trios, and groups) are made using custom measurements.
  • Clients are responsible for submitting accurate measurements.
  • Kelly Sews Love, LLC is not responsible for incorrect measurements or growth changes.
  • If room for growth is needed, this must be communicated during the consultation.

Agreement

By submitting your deposit or payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to all policies outlined above.
